"Taikomochi - Funny Drum"
In Japanese, the title of this work is a play on words. 'Taikomochi' originally was the name given to clowns - some carried drums, some didn't. I wanted to create a drum (taiko) that was inherently humorous in the same way one thinks of a clown as funny! Clowns make people laugh. In playing with the shape of this drum, I hope people will find this piece amusing.
